When it comes to hot dates, the Memorial Heights area of Houston is as suave as it gets. If you are trying to get to know someone a little better, the area is full of venues that are ideal for first dates. And if you’ve already passed that stage with your significant other, you’re in even better luck due to the sheer amount of fine dining establishments that are sure to make your partner feel special. For this latter group, we’ve created the following list of the most romantic restaurants around Memorial Heights, Houston.

Italian Cuisine: Vincent’s

Nothing quite spells out romantic dinner quite like an Italian restaurant, and Vincent’s delivers on all fronts with its delectable Italian pastas in a beautiful setting. Try the Mezzaluna stuffed with ricotta, chicken, and Parmigiano and smothered in a tomato cream sauce for a mouthwatering dish. If you’re not in the mood for pasta, then their house-specialty garlic and lemon spit-roasted rotisserie chicken will truly delight your senses. Pair it off with an Italian wine, and you’ll be well on your way to having a fantastic date.

Sushi: Uchi

Sushi dates are arguably one of the best kinds of dates, and Uchi is arguably one of the best sushi houses in the Lone Star State. Uchi got its start in Austin, where it became an insanely popular overnight success. The Houston location is just as good, and features many of the same exquisite menu options and fine sakes as its sister restaurant.

European-Influenced: Restaurant Cinq

Restaurant Cinq is the quintessential romantic restaurant. It is the perfect location to visit for a special occasion or just an amorous meal. This restaurant not only has an incredibly romantic vibe, but it is also located in a historic setting within the former house of W.W. Fondren, a Houston oil baron. The menu is comprised of European-influenced fare, though it does have a contemporary twist. Try their wild-caught lump crabmeat and red snapper or their roasted lamb rack with smoked eggplant.

Steak: Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse

If meat is on your mind, then there’s no better place to take your date than Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse. This restaurant combines cutting-edge cuisine with authentic and traditional preparation methods to present premium steak dishes. Start your date off at the cocktail lounge and enjoy some live piano music while you sip on wine from an award-winning wine list. The stone-laden and wooden interior gives this restaurant a very warm and cozy vibe that will make you feel right at home. Try their specialty chop of filet mignon in 9 or 12-ounce servings with your choice of sides, including creamed potatoes, spinach au gratin, and wild mushrooms.
